The purpose this blog focus on positive things- beautiful things- and to share them in the hopes that some of the images will brighten someone's day.
Beauty can be found everywhere- you just have to look for it. I love photography because it forces me to search for beauty. If you search for beauty you are sure to find it (and oppositely, if you search for negativity, you will find it as well). With all the negativity in the world, I'm choosing to focus on beauty, knowing that I can always find it and that if I keep focusing on beauty, I will have less space for negativity and will open up more room with the positive.
I'm digging into my collection to find images that will fit the theme of each week, and will also add many new images.

Love the Cayman Islands? I do, too! From the beautiful bluff, to the wetlands full of beautiful birds, to the gorgeous water, what's not to love?
A hikers' dream come true!
So many beautiful hiking trails, and not enough time.
As a Florida gal, I am enamored with mountain hiking because it's not readily available to me. The hiking options are endless near Park City, Utah. I am in love.
How to make chicken and dumplings
Follow this easy recipe to make chicken and dumplings.
Heading to Ashford Castle, County Mayo? You have so much in store for you! From fishing, to falconry, to archery, tree climbing, hiking, exploring and more... or, if you're like me, I just like looking at the pretty flowers. Stay busy and explore as much as possible!
A cemetery in the rain- absolutely beautiful! Dogwoods, irises, azaleas and more.
Gainesville, FL is home to many beautiful nature park. Sweetwater Wetlands Park is a relatively new park and hosts a symphony of birds and a wildlife theater.

Spring has sprung in Washington, D.C. I was so impressed with the beautiful flowers in the yards of the houses. Join me on my walking adventure and see DC from my eyes!
Brighten up any rainy day with these bright and cheerful umbrellas (and a tennis ball too)!
Cayman Brac Adventures Day 6- Bight Road (North South Bluff Road)
New trails and adventures
A fun and difficult hike on iron shore on the lower east end of the island, duck stalking, and more!
What an awesome day on Cayman Brac island!
I drove around all afternoon searching for beautiful things. I found them.
First I found the most beautiful Royal Poinciana tree while driving along the bluff, then I walked on the bluff nature trail leading to the south side beach view. Lastly, across the street from my house, I happened upon a group of beautiful ducks that let me observe them from a very close distance.
Another Cayman Brac bluff adventure-- lots of Brown Booby birds-- it's springtime so lots of babies!
Gainesville's hidden treasure: Kanapaha Gardens
Tucked away off of Archer Road, adjacent to Lake Kanahapa, this beautiful garden with many mini-gardens is a great place for a spring visit.
Cayman Brac is a wonderful island of adventure! Filled with beautiful hiking paths, gorgeous foliage, exotic birds, and spectacular views. Please join me, through my pictures, on my daily hikes.
More adventures on Adventure Island (Cayman Brac). One of my favorite places for views, bird watching, hiking, flowers, and more!
As an avid tennis player, I am constantly looking for fun clothing to wear on the court. I have been able to find fun and colorful skirts, but not as many fun UPF (sun protection) tops and tank tops. So.... of course, I decided to design my own. It has been extremely fun to incorporate tennis balls, flowers, tennis racquets, tennis courts, and much more!
Beautiful art does not have to stay on walls- you can wear it and carry it too! Check out these new tennis shirt, rash guards, tank tops, bags, and more from SP Fine Prints Designs.
Fun new products available on Etsy!
Cayman Brac, one of the three Cayman Islands, is a well-kept secret. It's my absolute favorite for hiking and cave adventures. Loaded with brown booby birds and frigates and so many more bird varieties, it's a true bird paradise. I'm a land-lover, and not a sea lover (Brac has amazing diving, I'm told), so I love hiking on the bluff, rock climbing, and "rock hopping" on Long Beach.
It's a bird sanctuary with a bird symphony. Red-winged blackbirds, blue herons, roseate spoonbills, sandhill cranes, and so many more! It's a 3.5 mile trail (only 1 small shaded spot, so make sure to wear a hat if you go). You'll see lots of lazy gators as well... and maybe even wild cracker horses!
I'm constantly searching for new botanical gardens, and was definitely not disappointed while visiting Niagra Falls. They have a gorgeous botanical garden- I highly recommend!
The Catalina Mountains in Arizona are absolutely stunning. Join me (through pictures) as I hike.
Arizona -- the perfect opposite of swampy Florida. The cactus blooms are beautiful!

After attending a retreat in Rome, Georgia, I was inspired by the knowledge and wisdom of my fellow attendees- they were able to easily relate certain passages with certain situations. In my own way, this is how I'll be able to memorize them and use them when I need them.
This next set of blog updates will focus on Gardens from around the world, so this section will probably take a few weeks.
This first featured garden is the Central Park Conservatory Garden. This gorgeous and peaceful garden is an oasis in the big city. It's located in the northeast of Central Park. Be sure to visit each time you go to NYC as the flowers change with the seasons so it's like going to a brand new garden each time.

Also known as the image that piqued my interest in photography
My husband, who now jokingly regrets this act, bought a digital camera for us right before we went on a trip from Bali to France (with many stops in between). I'm not an adventurer without being prodded along by true adventurers. Brian booked stops in Bali, India, Cambodia, Thailand, Turkey and many more, but the only way he could get me up and about each morning for exploration was to encourage me to take pictures as art. This particular monk was the picture that hooked me on photography. I did feel like an irreverant tourist by taking this picture, but it has inspired me and many others.
Who can resist climbing onto a swing with such a beautiful view. Imagine yourself slowly leaning back, kicking out your legs and enjoying the breeze.
While visiting friends, Frank and Robin, in Sicily, they took me to a beautiful oceanfront spot and specifically brought me to this exact spot to watch the sunset through the door opening. Wow!
On a perfectly calm day in Miami (Sands Cut), the clouds reflected on the turquoise water.
Bamboo from Kanapaha Gardens
Tucked away in the beautiful Kanapaha Gardens in Gainesville, FL is a peaceful bamboo garden.
Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales, FL is one of my happy places. With it's beautiful marble bell tower and gorgeous flower gardens, it remains one of my favorite places on earth.
Always one of my favorites- who can resist fascination with a perfectly clear, blue lake surrounded by the Alps. Looks like someone arrived by bike and went sailing and paddle boating in the beautiful water.
Praying Buddha at Kanapaha Garden. Calms the soul.
While sunset pictures are cliche, they are cliche because sunsets will always be beautiful and each one is different. I will never be able to resist a beautiful sunset opportunity.
Another one of my favorites from Bok Tower Gardens. This reminds me of my childhood- I used to bring peanuts or bread to feed squirrels at Bok Tower (in fact, everyone did- it was probably the only place on earth with tame squirrels). I think that after years of not feeding them, they are back to being frantic, but they used to come right up to people begging for food. I have a picture of myself with a squirrel on this path.
